Future feminist Zoe Rene McFall was born on April 14, 2009.  Her parents, Coral Wayland and Chris McFall, couldn't be happier.  Zoe will demonstrate her femnist zeal on March 1 where she plans on having her picture taken with Gloria Steinem!

Dr. Tong of Philosophy, published Long-Term Care for the Elderly: Whose Responsibility Is It?, International Journal of Feminist Approaches to Bioethics, vol. 2, no. 2 (2009).

Dr. Aulette of Sociology, published 2 books this summer, Gendered Worlds (with Oxford University Press) and Cape Verdean Women and Globalization: The Politics of Gender, Culture, and Resistance (with MacMillan Palgrave)

Dr. Hartman of Criminal Justice and Criminology, along with her colleagues, won the William L. Simon/Anderson ACJS Outstanding Paper Award for the 2009 meeting of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences for, Exploring the Gender Differences In Protective Factors: Implications for Understanding Resiliency International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology.  Volume 53 (3): 249-277.

Dr. Fuentes' of  Anthropology was recently appointed to the Governor's Crime Commission.  The Governor's Crime Commission serves as the chief advisory body to the Governor and the Secretary of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety on crime and justice issues.
